We recognise the importance and significance of the commercial opportunities of geothermal energy within new and existing buildings.

We have been involved at Government level in providing research and development, trials and measurements for the commercial use of local geothermal springs at low temperatures in heat pump systems. Our work has generated feasibility studies and funding applications for demonstration projects.

Through our research programmes, we take an active part in the development, testing and national standards for the application of low temperature spring water or underground water for heat pump solutions.
